The Problem

The rise of fast fashion is having an extreme effect on our environment.  Landfills are filling up by the second as seemingly endless amounts of waste is being disposed of.  Thrifting (another name for buying used clothing) is not only a fun social activity, but can also have a positive environmental impact as it reduces the need for new clothing production.  Utilizing the existing branding of “Buffalo Exchange,” we created a companion app that gamifies the tracking of landfill waste (and money saved) by shopping for used clothing.

The Solution

Buffalo Exchange is a boutique chain with whimsical design elements, but the overall branding is incredibly inconsistent. We developed a more cohesive system from some of their main web colors, then created an engaging experience that helps user make tracking their environmental impact fun.
